Time and Date Code from Video Recorded...

I am using a Canon FS100 camcorder that records to a SD card - I've imported the videos using PE4 alone (.mod files) and also using Streamclip (.avi files). So far I've not been able to find a way to have the date and time of the video displayed after it is imported so it will be visible on the DVD once recorded. Anyone know if it is possible to get this data displayed after the files are imported?

Thanks for the reply. Is there any other process/software that will allow this? I'm not sure I fully understand what you mean by ''workflow''.

The time/date information in your video is not recorded to your video data in a way that you can make it visible on a DVD.



You may be able to get the data by looking at the metadata in the Photoshop Elements Organizer. (The Premiere Elements Organizer will also show you the date it was recorded.) But then you'd have to create your own titles or something to make this information display on your video. There's no automatic way to make it happen.

You might want to take a look at a little program, DVDate. Depending on the exact format/CODEC of your AV's, it *might* be able to extract and ''imprint'' the data.



I did similar, but only wanted a visible timecounter, 00;00;00;00 to whatever. Adobe After Effects did a nice job of this. However, it is not a cheap program and has a mighty learning curve. BTW, for what I wanted (not quite what you want), Premiere Pro does it too, but without the control to change colors, ect., like AE has.
