Hi, I have been using PE 2.0 for some time with a Sony HDR-HC1 (importing SD format from HD tape). If I upgrade to 7.0 can future projects import/edit in HD but output to SD and HD formats (same aspect ratio)?
For HD I am interested in formats to put on DVD that a blu-ray player can display (i.e. Sony bdp-S350).

PE7 SD and HD export formats from same...
PE7 can burn SD DVDs and HD Blu-ray discs from HD footage captured into PE7. PE7 can not burn HD to standard DVDs. For this I export my edited HD project as a HDV MPEG2 or H.264 and use Corel DVD Moviefactory 6+ for burning high definition to DVDs with menus.

You could start a Standard project with HD source and export to DVD or BRD. Just make sure to not turn off Scale to Frame Size.
