Hi Guys,



QUESTION



How do you unfade a clip that has been faded out at some point in the past?



You can't click on undo because it happened at some point in the past, and in anycase you may wish to apply an 'unfade' to several clips.



It is easy to fade clips. What is not so easy is to undo a fade unless you manually change the yellow line.



So does anyone know how to unfade a clip?

What state is the Clip and the Project in? If the Audio %26amp; Video have been Exported to a delivery format, and that is all you have, there is not much you can do, except ''cut'' into each the Audio %26amp; Video and edit in a different manner. Do not forget that you will need Handles to effectively use most Transitions.



Now, if you're still in the Project, you can undo either. The exact method might differ slightly depending on exactly how these Fades were applied. If they are Dissolve Transitions, just click on the Transition and hit Delete. Make sure you are ON the Transition and not the Clip.



If these were done via Keyframing, you would Clear the necessary Keyframes.



I hope that your instance is the latter, and not the former.

As Hunt says, if you use Fade Out or Fade in, you'll see the keyframe dots for Opacity on the end of the clip. Just right click on each of those dots and select the option to delete the keyframe.



Then make sure, when you're done, that the Opacity line is raised to 100%, as high as it can go on your clip.
