Record at 1920x1080 or 1440x1080 for...

Trying to find the ''sweet spot'' for balance of quality and size with my HDR-SR11 camera. So here is a question, If I intend to encode my videos at 9-10Mbps (basically about 100MB for every minute of video), is it best to set the camera to 1440x1080 which has a native bitrate of 9Mbps or record at 1920x1080 which has a bitrate of 16Mbps?

I know with audio you always want to record higher and then you can encode down from there. Wondering if video is the same way - always record on highest setting?

Thanks,

Mark

Basically yes... anytime you render/export your footage the quality will take a hit. If you have a fast enough processor go with the 1920x1080 higher bit rate setting. If you are worried about the file size buy yourself a second hard drive or an external drive.
