moving a project to another computer

I am helping a youth do a project in premiere elements. We are having computer trouble, and are needing to move the project to another computer. I am not sure how to do this, as there are lots of files. Is there a simple way to transport a project to another computer? Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. MKH

Use the project archiver function (under the File menu) to move your project and its media files to an external hard drive. Then all you need to do is plug the hard drive into your new computer, launch Premiere Elements and link up to your project files!

Mike,

One little caveat: I have found that P-Pro's Project Manager (very similar to PE's Archiver) does NOT gather up SmartSound Assets, should you be using this feature. Those have to be copied separately, when doing a Project archive. Have not used PE's version, so do not know if that same little ''glitch'' exists. If you are using SmartSound Audio files, just Copy them, in addition to your other Assets, that should be gathered with Archiver. If you are not using SmartSound, you are free to ignore the above.

Good luck,

Hunt

Mike,

Go to file menu and select project archiver.you will find two options there.'Archive Project' allows to include the media you used in the time line of your movie.'Copy Project' option allows you to include all media in your project.

Select one of these (I guess 'copy Project' would be apt for your case) and it will make a copy of your project.

now you can transfer your project on another computer.
