Transitions

My premiere elements 7 won't let me put transitions in between different clips, but it does when a clip is split.

Zoom in on your timeline (using +) and make sure there are no tiny clips between your clips.



Otherwise, can you be more specific about what you're doing and what's not happening?

After you follow Steve's tip, you might want to read up on ''Handles.'' When adding a Transition between Clips, you need a bit of ''extra'' material, called Handles for each Clip. If you have not allowed for these, then PE has to duplicate frames to create these, or will often display adjacent frames, that you think have been cut out.
