Just downloaded Premiere 7. Installed and attempted to run for the first time. I get the error: App Ver. 7.0.0.0, mod name msvcr80.dll
I am running XP Pro SP3, 1.78G processor, 2G RAM.
msvcr80.dll error starting Premiere...
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling?
Also, make sure you have the latest version of Quicktime.
BTW, if that 1.78 ghz processor is a Pentium, as opposed to a dual-core, you likely don't have enough power to run the program to any degree.
Also, ensure that you have at least 50 gigs of free, defragmented space on your hard drive.

Yes. I have tried reinstalling. We'll just have to see about the processor. Yes I have +50G hard drive space. The error occurs before the program completes loading.
Matt,
Might want to take a look at this thread:

Something in it might work for you.
Good luck,

Hi Matt,
you need to take a look at the other softwares which are installed on your system. Tell me if there are any audio or video editing softwares installed.
Also tell me which audio and video drivers do you have?
Apart from this you also try to install Premiere 7 on another system with lesser applications installed on it and see if it is working fine.
Let me know about your finding.
