Premiere 7 Elements video quality...

I'm a 1st time user of Premiere Elements and downloaded the trial. I have a Canon HV30 HD video camera. I captured some HDV footage with the trial and it doesn't look as good on the dvd I burned with Premiere as I think it should as it is HD footage. I used the capture 1080i settings in Premiere. Does the trial version limit the quality or??? If I buy the full program will the video look better? The video looks great straight from video camera to my HDTV. Thank you

That could be because you burned a DVD, which has less than 25% of the resolution of your original footage.

You'd likely see excellent quality (assuming you used the right project settings) if you output a BluRay disk instead.

Otherwise, you can also achieve very good results with a standard DVD if you downsample your footage, as we recommend in the FAQs at the top of this forum.

Yes Bruce,

When you burn a DVD, it downsizes the resolution and hence the resulting QUALITY would not be same as shot.
